Etanol/Cepea: Hydrated returns to value in SP

Ethanol values rose again in the spot market in the state of São Paulo last week. Between September 12 and 16, the weekly CEPEA/ESALQ indicator for hydrous ethanol closed at R$ 2.3819/liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins – zero rate), up 6.93% compared to the previous period. For anhydrous, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator closed at R$ 2.8378/liter (PIS/Cofins – zero rate), an increase of 0.68%. As for the daily indicator ESALQ/BM&FBovespa (Paulínia – SP), from September 12 to 16, it had an average of R$ 2,460.00/m³, an increase of 5.88% compared to the previous week. Cepea researchers indicate that, for hydrated, the values advanced after having retreated for six consecutive weeks; in the case of anhydrous, it is a reaction after four down periods. The support, according to Cepea researchers, came from the increase in the number of businesses in the state of São Paulo, which even involved higher volumes on some days of the week.
